town called malice
I met my hero Paul Weller at the Jazz Cafe in Camden in 2008. Obviously he looked cool, but he beat me to it with the compliments and observed that I was wearing a 'nice Fred Perry'.
As I walked away speechless I realised it was one that he himself had designed in a collaboration with Fred Perry! Doh, of course he should like it!!
It was the white short sleeve 2 button collar-less polo with navy trim that he was sporting around the time of his highly acclaimed 22 Dreams LP.
Sadly I didn't get a picture of me in it with him, so I am submitting a shot of me singing a classic from The Jam taken on my stag in Tenerife just months before bumping into Weller in Camden.
A simple black polo with white laurel, set off nicely with white jeans. A number inspired by the black and white check of the roof to our mini, which the wife calls the Ska Car.
Thanks Fred for everything. Congratulations on the 100 years milestone. Heres to the next 100.....
Keep the Faith.
