Abbey Road Antics

Amazingly I won tickets to see Paul Weller with 50 other lucky people in 2000 play a live session at studio 2 in Abbey road.

Me and my mate Scott arrived, hundreds of photographers, musicians coming and going all day, We slipped onto the forecourt followed by a gang of security, as my foot touched the bottom step of Abbey Road, Steve Cradock of OCS stepped out, I grabbed his hand, held on, made small talk, looked important and the guards just turned away!

We slipped in the main door up to the top floor studio and who was coming down the other way.... the man himself.
How did you get Here?” he said, he knew we had been a bit naughty. Wish I had my camera, alone with Mr. Weller having a nice chat, and he was in no rush either.

Later In studio 2, we were shouting out songs, getting a wry smile, and amazingly songs played by Paul, a great gig memory.

At the end people decided to leave, are they nuts! The room was empty except the band, and us so we had a smoke, and got a few mementos.

We eventually left and squeezed into the after party, some faces in there, One of my best chats at the bar was with Carl Wayne from the Move, mainly as many people didn't know who he was... but I did.

Not only visiting abbey road studio 2, meeting Paul, having songs played for us. A Proper night out.
